Mechanical Engineer
Full-time positions in the Engineering department assisting with noise & vibration testing, compliance standards, industry standards, product design, etc. Core Engineering office hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday-Friday, some flexibility available.
Essential Functions:
- General Engineering tasks related to design and testing or product proving, in relation to compliance of our products with industry regulations and standards, both foreign and domestic.
- Gain a complete understanding of compliance requirements for our products and compile, organize, and store all relevant documentation.
- Utilize measurement and analysis tools to evaluate our products for performance and life cycle testing, including measurement of force, stress, pressure, heat, etc.
- Conduct environmental testing for corrosion/life cycle on our components.
- Utilize noise and vibration measurement and analysis tools to evaluate, identify, and solve issues related to noise & vibration standards.
- Implement product testing and process analysis, based on applicable standards.
- Conduct diagnostics and root cause analysis in relation to noise & vibration standards/testing.
- Research and identify applicable regulation and industry compliance standards and codes, both foreign and domestic.
- Develop compliance plans by researching, analyzing, selecting and applying compliance engineering concepts.
- Documents compliance by completing approval applications, recording test results, preparing and filing Declarations of Conformity and maintaining compliance database.
Desire Skills & Experience:
- Must have clerical skills; operating calculator, filing, typing and accurate data entry on computer terminal.
- Must become proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must become proficient in PTC CREO for design related tasks.
- Must be able to perform data entry tasks sitting at computer terminal for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to read, comprehend and fill out forms.
- Must be open minded and willing to take notes while learning a new task.
- Must be able to occasionally work well in tight working conditions as well as possibly different locations.
- Must be courteous and helpful on telephone.
- Must collaborate with engineers, engineering shop employees and engineering office support employees.
- Must arrive at scheduled starting time and work a minimum of 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, or more if required.
- Must work well and be cooperative with co-workers. Ask questions if not sure about a particular problem.
- Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging compliance engineering practices and standards.
- Must constantly be alert to potential hazards and keep a safety awareness attitude
