This is a 10-hour, daylights position, working Monday through Thursday, 5 AM – 3:30 PM. Fabrication Workers are expected to work scheduled overtime, or overtime on short notice. Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements.  Working from general verbal and written instructions and according to established operating procedures, performs the following duties while cooperating with all levels within the organization in support of the four company core values: People, Passion, Performance and Protection.   Responsibilities: Under general supervision of the Fab Department Supervisor, and direction of the Lead Fabrication Worker, perform a variety of tasks in accordance with the Fab Worker expectations. This includes operating all machinery in the department and rotating various positions; perform as mobile equipment operator; work from verbal and written instructions according to established operating procedures; and perform the following tasks:
  • Prepare packaging material for use including: read bag lists, cores, MBI flags for rolls, product labels, assembles corrugated cartons for B777CT.
  • Supply appropriate raw materials (Microlite-L, Insul-shield, PEBS, facings, and other materials required) via mobile equipment to the fabrication staging areas to allow efficient time and equipment use. Fills out required inventory tally sheets.
  • Read and follow Fab Department Daily Production Schedule for all operations.
  • Set up and operate vertical saw to properly size roll and board products to required sizes.
  • Set up and operate roll laminators to laminate various facings to fiberglass as specified by the production schedules.
  • Set up and operate board laminator to laminate various facings to board products as specified by the production schedules.
  • Perform required checks (adhesive, facing alignment, and other quality checks) to ensure product is within specifications and records checks.
  • Complete material consumption, production, labor, and other required information accurately and completely on production schedules.
  • Change adhesive glue totes and clean adhesive systems as required.
  • Dump trash; dump plastic cart at baler; recycle cardboard.
  • Secure and transport from one place to another, facings, adhesives, packaging materials, fiberglass, and finished products manually or by means of material-handling aids. Material-handling aids include lift trucks, clamp trucks, and dollies.
